Uploading Files with WS_FTP

[Downloading/Installing WS_FTP] WS_FTP can be found at http://www.ipswitch.com/ Download WS_FTP and follow the setup wizard to install the program on your computer. Run WS_FTP.

[Connecting to a Site] This is the first screen you'll see when loading up WS_FTP, in this specific example the file browser has been navigated to d:\media\pictures.
To initially connect to your site, you'll need to fill in the "Address", "UserID" and "Password" fields.
Address should be ftp.yourdomain.com.
UserID should be user@yourdomain.com.
Password should be your password.Hit the "Go" button and you will connect to your site.

[Browsing the Remote Site] You now have a similar file-browser style menu in the right panel that shows you the directory structure of you specific site. Here we have a webpage (index.html) and a couple folders in our remote site.

[File Transfer] We want to take CIMG0464.JPG and put it in the remote directory pictures. To do so, simply click the image file in the left panel, and drag it onto the pictures folder.
Notice in the bottom panel there is a progress bar that shows the file has been transferred.
Now by double-clicking on the pictures folder in the right panel, we can confirm that our picture has been transferred (we see it in the folder).

[Deleting a File] To delete CIMG0464.JPG, click on it in the remote site panel (the right), and hit the delete button. You will be presented with a confirmation box for the delete operation.

[Saving the Connection] If you plan on accessing your site frequently, it can be helpful to save the site so that you can access it with one click, instead of always re-entering your information.
To start creating the site, click the [Connect] image in the upper left, and then click on the [Create Site] button. You will be prompted for a name to save the site as, pick one to describe your site.
The next menu will ask for your site's address, your user name, and your password, which are the same as you've entered above. After entering these you will be presented with a confirmation box, as shown below, click the [Finish] button if all of the information is correct.

[Accessing the Saved Site] To access your saved site, simply click the [Connect] image in the upper left again, and this time your site will be listed in the menu. Click on the saved site and you will automatically connect to your ftp server.
